This artwork by Abdur Rahman Chughtai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work The Bond of Love sold for USD 126,000.00 (€ 128,794.85) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abdur Rahman Chughtai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Krishna Instructing Arjuna sold at auction in September 2021 with the realized price of USD 250,000.00 (€ 215,945.41).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Abdur Rahman Chughtai erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit The Bond of Love für USD 126.000,00 (€ 128.794,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Abdur Rahman Chughtai; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Krishna Instructing Arjuna im September 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 215.945,41).
