This artwork by Abdur Rahman Chughtai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in October 2021. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Pet Bird sold for GBP 5,355.00 (€ 6,344.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abdur Rahman Chughtai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Krishna Instructing Arjuna in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 215,945.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Abdur Rahman Chughtai erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Pet Bird für GBP 5.355,00 (€ 6.344,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abdur Rahman Chughtai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Krishna Instructing Arjuna im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 215.945,41).
