Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Maiden in a green headdress by Abdur Rahman Chughtai. The price achieved of GBP 25,250.00 (€ 29,914.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Abdur Rahman Chughtai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Krishna Instructing Arjuna in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 215,945.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maiden in a green headdress von Abdur Rahman Chughtai zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.250,00 (€ 29.914,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abdur Rahman Chughtai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Krishna Instructing Arjuna im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 215.945,41).
