This artwork by Abdur Rahman Chughtai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Kashmiri Woodcutter sold for USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,383.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abdur Rahman Chughtai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Krishna Instructing Arjuna in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 215,945.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Abdur Rahman Chughtai erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Kashmiri Woodcutter für USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.383,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abdur Rahman Chughtai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Krishna Instructing Arjuna im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 215.945,41).
