Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fragrance; Untitled (One double-sided work) by Abdur Rahman Chughtai was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,543.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abdur Rahman Chughtai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Krishna Instructing Arjuna in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 215,945.41).

Die Arbeit Fragrance; Untitled (One double-sided work) von Abdur Rahman Chughtai kam im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.543,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abdur Rahman Chughtai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Krishna Instructing Arjuna im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 215.945,41).
