Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Devotional Mother by Abdur Rahman Chughtai was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 52,920.00 (€ 50,000.00). Admittedly, works by Abdur Rahman Chughtai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Krishna Instructing Arjuna in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 215,945.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Devotional Mother von Abdur Rahman Chughtai wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 52.920,00 (€ 50.000,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abdur Rahman Chughtai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Krishna Instructing Arjuna im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 215.945,41).
