This artwork by Abdoulaye Konaté achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2017. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction, the work Composition No. 25 (Soleil) sold for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,456.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abdoulaye Konaté - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Papillon bleu pour Fès, 2016, which sold at auction in November this year for MAD 957,760.00 (€ 87,715.64).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Abdoulaye Konaté erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art wurde die Arbeit Composition No. 25 (Soleil) für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 34.456,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Abdoulaye Konaté mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Papillon bleu pour Fès, 2016 beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für MAD 957.760,00 (€ 87.715,64) versteigert wurde.
