Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Love Africa, 2019 by Abdias Ngateu was sold in the A Moroccan Spring auction at Artcurial in Marrakech in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of MAD 44,000.00 – 66,000.00, the actual price achieved of MAD 45,500.00 (€ 3,992.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abdias Ngateu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Taxi Brousse II - 2020, which sold at auction in December 2020 for MAD 143,000.00 (€ 12,511.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Love Africa, 2019 von Abdias Ngateu wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion A Moroccan Spring bei Artcurial in Marrakesch versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von MAD 44.000,00 – 66.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von MAD 45.500,00 (€ 3.992,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Abdias Ngateu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Taxi Brousse II - 2020 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für MAD 143.000,00 (€ 12.511,04) versteigert wurde.
