Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Through the Window by Abdel Ghaffar Shedid was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction at Bonhams in London in November 2020. The price achieved of GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,116.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abdel Ghaffar Shedid - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tahtib, which sold at auction in November last year for GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,161.51).

Die Arbeit Through the Window von Abdel Ghaffar Shedid wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.116,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Abdel Ghaffar Shedid mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tahtib beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für GBP 19.125,00 (€ 22.161,51) versteigert wurde.
