Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Figural Group) by Abbott Pattison was auctioned at Bonhams in January this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 318.75 (€ 293.56). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abbott Pattison achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wave in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,364.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Figural Group) von Abbott Pattison im Januar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 318,75 (€ 293,56) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abbott Pattison erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wave im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.364,39).
