This artwork by Abastenia St. Leger Eberle achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2011. In the American Paintings auction, the work Windy Doorstep sold for USD 43,750.00 (€ 29,518.93) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abastenia St. Leger Eberle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Sea Treasures', which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 144,000.00 (€ 108,589.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Abastenia St. Leger Eberle erzielte im April 2011 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings wurde die Arbeit Windy Doorstep für USD 43.750,00 (€ 29.518,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Abastenia St. Leger Eberle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Sea Treasures' beobachtet, die im November 2006 für USD 144.000,00 (€ 108.589,10) versteigert wurde.
