Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lal Masjid Horror by A. R. Nagori was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,153.41). Other works by A. R. Nagori have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November this year by the work Untitled (Five Figures) at GBP 3,584.00 (€ 4,153.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lal Masjid Horror von A. R. Nagori im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.375,00 (€ 2.153,41) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von A. R. Nagori wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November diesen Jahres die Arbeit Untitled (Five Figures) mit GBP 3.584,00 (€ 4.153,08).
