In August 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern Native American ArtFeaturing the Wendy and Les Fisher Collection of Canadian Inuit Sculpture, which included the work A Kenojuak Ashevak Etching And Aquatint, "Guardian Owl," 1997 by Kenojuak Ashevak. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,105.93), 62% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kenojuak Ashevak; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Kenojuak Ashevak Stonecut, "Dream," 1963 sold at auction in August 2021 with the realized price of USD 5,355.00 (€ 4,538.14).
