I am inspired by movement.” The waves of Berlin's Wannsee, for example. Or the churning sea of Norway.
For Christine Keruth, this sentence primarily stands for her engagement with art. For her, movement is the driving force and motivation to explore new paths and look at old perspectives from a contemporary angle.
In the past, however, it also meant asserting herself with strength and perseverance in the male-dominated art world of the 1990s.
To this day, she continues to engage in critical dialog at all levels: artistically and academically. She knows no stagnation. National and international exhibitions accompany the artistic work of the Berlin painter. In this way, she succeeds in changing our view of the world in a unique way, questioning the seemingly given and stimulating our own reflections.
Christine Keruth lives and works in Berlin and Potsdam. She studied painting at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee.
In addition to numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions in museums, galleries, art associations, monasteries and churches, her works are represented in public and private collections worldwide.
She completed her doctorate at the University of Potsdam in 2021 on “The Pietà Iconic in Contemporary Art. Modification and innovation of a pictorial formula' and writes on art historical and contemporary topics.
