About my artwork

Nature, with all its colors and shapes, is my greatest source of inspiration. When walking through the forest or travelling, I notice surface structures, transparencies or shades that are easy to overlook. But for me these details such as a section from the whole or a visual phenomenon give rise to the painterly exploration and what I try to bring to the canvas. I therefore focus on organic structures and abstracted landscapes, but also on reflections and mirroring. The theme of light always plays an important role in my works.

Playing with colors in their varied nuances and creating structures and light spaces are my passion and at the same time the driving force behind my work. I work with paint brushes and spatulas and lay several layers of paint on top of each other, constantly exploring the nuances of the colors. My works in oil and acrylic are the result of a painterly process of color overlapping and mixing as well as an interplay of intention and chance.

Many of my artworks are on the border between reality and abstraction, some are also completely abstract. Accordingly, my works are intended to give the viewer space for their own feelings and thoughts about what is depicted.

"Color is a force that directly influences the soul." (Wassily Kandinsky)
