This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Calligraphic Couplet the most expensive artwork by Xie Wuliang that we have observed at auctions so far.
