Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work North Gate by Xiao Rusong was auctioned at Christies in Taipei in April 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of TWD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for TWD 998,750.00 (€ 34,102.01). Admittedly, works by Xiao Rusong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life by The Window in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 1,375,000.00 (€ 150,224.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit North Gate von Xiao Rusong im April 2001 bei Christies in Taipeh versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von TWD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für TWD 998.750,00 (€ 34.102,01) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xiao Rusong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life by The Window im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.375.000,00 (€ 150.224,94).
