A top price for William Oliver - as previously expected
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work The Grand Canal, Venice by William Oliver. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,637.50 (€ 12,483.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Grand Canal, Venice is the most expensive artwork by William Oliver that we have observed at auctions so far.
