Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Medusa, 2001 by William Kentridge was sold in the A Focus on William Kentridge auction at Bonhams in London in September this year. The price achieved of GBP 2,304.00 (€ 2,304.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Kentridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Procession in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,538,500.00 (€ 1,200,452.56).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Medusa, 2001 von William Kentridge wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Focus on William Kentridge bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.304,00 (€ 2.304,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Kentridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Procession im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.538.500,00 (€ 1.200.452,56).
