Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Young woman on a bridge by William A. Breakspeare was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in August 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 25,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 21,000.00 (€ 2,243.15). Admittedly, works by William A. Breakspeare have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Good Bowl Of Punch in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 26,250.00 (€ 21,357.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Young woman on a bridge von William A. Breakspeare im August 2010 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 21.000,00 (€ 2.243,15) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William A. Breakspeare auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Good Bowl Of Punch im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 26.250,00 (€ 21.357,09).
