Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Vertumnus and Pomona by Willem van Mieris was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2020. Here, the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,460.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van Mieris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A trumpeter at a casement window with another figure holding an upturned wine glass in December last year with an auction result of GBP 390,900.00 (€ 441,288.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Vertumnus and Pomona von Willem van Mieris kam im Juni 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.460,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem van Mieris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A trumpeter at a casement window with another figure holding an upturned wine glass im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 390.900,00 (€ 441.288,03).
