Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work The Judgement of Paris by Willem van Mieris. It changed hands for a price of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 87,687.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem van Mieris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A trumpeter at a casement window with another figure holding an upturned wine glass in December last year with an auction result of GBP 390,900.00 (€ 441,288.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Judgement of Paris von Willem van Mieris zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 87.687,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem van Mieris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A trumpeter at a casement window with another figure holding an upturned wine glass im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 390.900,00 (€ 441.288,03).
