Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Drawings, which included the work Susannah And The Elders by Willem van Mieris. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,387.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van Mieris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A trumpeter at a casement window with another figure holding an upturned wine glass in December last year with an auction result of GBP 390,900.00 (€ 441,288.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Susannah And The Elders von Willem van Mieris zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.387,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem van Mieris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A trumpeter at a casement window with another figure holding an upturned wine glass im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 390.900,00 (€ 441.288,03).
