Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Christies in New York held the auction Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Two Sheeps by Wang Zhen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 30,240.00 (€ 3,557.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Zhen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Virtues Of Happiness in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 4,735,000.00 (€ 518,782.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Sheeps von Wang Zhen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 30.240,00 (€ 3.557,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Zhen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Virtues Of Happiness im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.735.000,00 (€ 518.782,91).
