Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The art shop, Eden Walk, Kingston-on-Thames; and Wareham by Walter Stuart Lloyd was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in London in November 2000. It changed hands for a price of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,248.32) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Stuart Lloyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sorting the catch at dusk, Babbacombe Bay, South Devon, which sold at auction in July 2004 for GBP 2,390.00 (€ 3,611.82).
