Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work An Anxious Moment by Walter Langley for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,606.10). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Langley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Cousin From Town in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 176,000.00 (€ 261,206.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An Anxious Moment von Walter Langley für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.606,10) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Langley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Cousin From Town im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 176.000,00 (€ 261.206,03).
