It achieved a price of USD 9,987.50 (€ 11,769.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 66%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Walter Farndon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The End of The Lane sold at auction in March 2006 with the realized price of USD 26,400.00 (€ 21,748.08).
