Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Self Portrait by Walt Kuhn was sold in the An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2018. The »bidding war« ended at USD 81,250.00 (€ 71,756.60), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walt Kuhn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chico in a Silk Hat in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,590,000.00 (€ 1,408,700.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Self Portrait von Walt Kuhn wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 71.756,60) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walt Kuhn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chico in a Silk Hat im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.590.000,00 (€ 1.408.700,27).
