Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Flower Seller Outside The Conciergerie, Paris by Victor Gabriel Gilbert. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,844.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Gabriel Gilbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lower Market, Paris in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 542,500.00 (€ 427,771.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flower Seller Outside The Conciergerie, Paris von Victor Gabriel Gilbert zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.844,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Gabriel Gilbert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Lower Market, Paris im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 542.500,00 (€ 427.771,64).
