In May 2011 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Luksong-Tinik (Jumping over Thorns) by Vicente Silva Manansala. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,640,000.00 (€ 146,705.62), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Vicente Silva Manansala have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tiangge (Market Scene) in November this year with an auction result of HKD 8,190,000.00 (€ 961,056.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Luksong-Tinik (Jumping over Thorns) von Vicente Silva Manansala zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.640.000,00 (€ 146.705,62) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vicente Silva Manansala auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tiangge (Market Scene) im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.190.000,00 (€ 961.056,11).
