In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Birds of paradise by Vicente Silva Manansala. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 50,000.00 (€ 4,116.32), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vicente Silva Manansala achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tiangge (Market Scene) in November this year with an auction result of HKD 8,190,000.00 (€ 961,056.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Birds of paradise von Vicente Silva Manansala zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 4.116,32) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vicente Silva Manansala erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tiangge (Market Scene) im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.190.000,00 (€ 961.056,11).
