Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Runner by Tony Cragg was sold in the Post-war and Contemporary Art - vente du soir auction at Christies in Paris in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 112,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tony Cragg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Constant Change in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 849,062.00 (€ 984,851.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Runner von Tony Cragg wurde im Dezember 2018 in der Auktion Post-war and Contemporary Art - vente du soir bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 112.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tony Cragg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Constant Change im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 849.062,00 (€ 984.851,03).
