Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Sheep and cattle resting by the riverbank by Thomas Sidney Cooper. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,125.89), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Sidney Cooper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reposing on God's Acre in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 171,650.00 (€ 250,603.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep and cattle resting by the riverbank von Thomas Sidney Cooper zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.012,50 (€ 8.125,89) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Sidney Cooper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reposing on God's Acre im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 171.650,00 (€ 250.603,59).
