Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Sidney Cooper could be acquired at Bonhams in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Saint Augustine's, Canterbury, in 1883 changed hands for GBP 53,220.00 (€ 60,548.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Sidney Cooper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reposing on God's Acre in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 171,650.00 (€ 250,603.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Sidney Cooper konnte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art wechselte die Arbeit Saint Augustine's, Canterbury, in 1883 für GBP 53.220,00 (€ 60.548,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Sidney Cooper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reposing on God's Acre im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 171.650,00 (€ 250.603,59).
