Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work 'Evening, East Kent' by Thomas Sidney Cooper. The price achieved of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,171.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Sidney Cooper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reposing on God's Acre in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 171,650.00 (€ 250,603.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Evening, East Kent' von Thomas Sidney Cooper zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.171,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Sidney Cooper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reposing on God's Acre im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 171.650,00 (€ 250.603,59).
