In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale, which included the work The old general by Thierry Poncelet. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,353.34), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thierry Poncelet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gentleman setter in February 2021 with an auction result of GBP 32,750.00 (€ 37,770.96).

Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Sunday Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The old general von Thierry Poncelet zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.353,34) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thierry Poncelet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A gentleman setter im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.750,00 (€ 37.770,96).
