The three disciples appearing on the ground at the lower part of the composition, James and Peter shielding their eyes from the striking light emanating from the vision above, John in a cautious posture looking upwards to Christ, the latter dressed in bright garments, the composition painted naturalistically with warm, earthen colours, the vestments of the disciples highlighted in gold
