This work without title by Stephen Gilbert was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September 2020. It achieved a price of GBP 5,062.50 (€ 5,582.23), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 45%. Admittedly, works by Stephen Gilbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man and Horse in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,722.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Stephen Gilbert kam im September 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 5.062,50 (€ 5.582,23) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 45%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stephen Gilbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man and Horse im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.722,34).
