Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Anthony van Dyck could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work Sketch For The Double Portrait Of Mountjoy Blount, 1St Earl Of Newport (Circa 1597–1666) And George, Lord Goring (1608–57) changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,682.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony van Dyck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Princess Mary (1631–1660), daughter of King Charles I of England, full-length, in a pink dress decorated with silver embroidery and ribbons in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 5,858,750.00 (€ 6,527,167.10).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Princess Mary (1631–1660), daughter of King Charles I of England, full-length, in a pink dress decorated with silver embroidery and ribbons im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.858.750,00 (€ 6.527.167,10).
