Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kitabat a'la jidar raqam (1) (Writings on the Wall number (1)) by Shakir Hassan Al Said was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction at Christies in Dubai in May this year. The price achieved of USD 88,200.00 (€ 82,785.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shakir Hassan Al Said - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hob Al-Watan Min Al Iman (Loving The Homeland Is Part Of Faith), which sold at auction in June 2021 for GBP 175,250.00 (€ 204,211.81).

Die Arbeit Kitabat a'la jidar raqam (1) (Writings on the Wall number (1)) von Shakir Hassan Al Said wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art bei Christies in Dubai versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 82.785,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Shakir Hassan Al Said mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hob Al-Watan Min Al Iman (Loving The Homeland Is Part Of Faith) beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für GBP 175.250,00 (€ 204.211,81) versteigert wurde.
