In January this year Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Prints, which included the work La mère et la mort by Rodolphe Bresdin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,641.74), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rodolphe Bresdin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Et In Arcadia Ego; And A Busy Continental Street Scene in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 39,435.00 (€ 57,451.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit La mère et la mort von Rodolphe Bresdin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.641,74) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rodolphe Bresdin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Et In Arcadia Ego; And A Busy Continental Street Scene im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.435,00 (€ 57.451,81).
