Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Autumn splendor by Robert William Wood was auctioned at Bonhams in London in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,536.00 (€ 1,393.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert William Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Floral hillside in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 21,325.00 (€ 19,038.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Autumn splendor von Robert William Wood im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.536,00 (€ 1.393,83) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert William Wood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Floral hillside im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.325,00 (€ 19.038,48).
