In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work A shepherd with his flock in a Highland landscape by Robert Watson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,366.42), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by Robert Watson have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,663.25) in April 2007 for the work Highland Cattle; and Highland Sheep.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.585,00 (€ 5.366,42) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
