Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rick Bartow achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. In the Modern Native American Art and JewelryFeaturing the Historic Pictorial Beadwork Collection of Joel and Kate Kopp auction, the work Segyp 7 sold for USD 4,864.00 (€ 4,487.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rick Bartow; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot What the Crow Said sold at auction in August this year with the realized price of USD 5,120.00 (€ 4,723.68).
