This artwork by Ram Kumar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak auction, the work without title sold for USD 567,000.00 (€ 511,133.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ram Kumar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vagabond sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of USD 1,161,000.00 (€ 734,577.67).

In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 567.000,00 (€ 511.133,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 300.000,00.
