In September this year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Ram Kumar. The »bidding war« ended at USD 189,000.00 (€ 178,571.43), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ram Kumar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vagabond in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,161,000.00 (€ 734,577.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ram Kumar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 178.571,43) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ram Kumar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vagabond im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.161.000,00 (€ 734.577,67).
