This artwork by Ram Kumar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September this year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Landscape) sold for USD 20,160.00 (€ 19,047.62) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ram Kumar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vagabond in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,161,000.00 (€ 734,577.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ram Kumar erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Landscape) für USD 20.160,00 (€ 19.047,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ram Kumar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vagabond im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.161.000,00 (€ 734.577,67).
