This artwork by Ram Kumar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak auction, the work Greek Landscape sold for USD 107,100.00 (€ 96,547.37) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ram Kumar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vagabond in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,161,000.00 (€ 734,577.67).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ram Kumar erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak wurde die Arbeit Greek Landscape für USD 107.100,00 (€ 96.547,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ram Kumar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vagabond im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.161.000,00 (€ 734.577,67).
