Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Sitges el paseo de la ribera by Rafael Monzó. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,579.85), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rafael Monzó - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pescadores Y Barcas, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,187.15).

Im Oktober 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sitges el paseo de la ribera von Rafael Monzó zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.579,85) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Rafael Monzó mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pescadores Y Barcas beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.187,15) versteigert wurde.
