Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Glorious Sierras by Paul Grimm was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,480.00 (€ 4,107.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Grimm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work San Gorgonio in November last year with an auction result of USD 44,475.00 (€ 43,083.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Glorious Sierras von Paul Grimm im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.480,00 (€ 4.107,08) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Grimm erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit San Gorgonio im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.475,00 (€ 43.083,41).
